It has been two years since the release of the highly acclaimed Cavalcade Of The Scars compilation which received great praise throughout Canada and even became the most played Canadian album of 2006 at Victoria’s own CFUV. Since the release Self Righteous Records cemented their place in the Canadian music scene delivering some of the best music Victoria has to offer including CDs from Meatdraw, The Lonesome Valley Singers, The Himalayan Bear and Amy Honey. This year we’ve decided to start the New Year off right with a brand new compilation, and while compilations are really nothing new – this one is sure to stand apart from anything ever done in Victoria (or Canada for that matter). This year’s collection not only boasts some of Victoria’s most amazing talents, it also pays homage to artists of the past to the present. This year, every band featured on the compilation will be covering their inspirations, their favorites and their peers – all derived out of Victoria BC.

These bands and artists have redefined the sounds of everybody on the local spectrum - from national pop sensations to open-mike pioneers of the past; this collection is far from a common sampler, instead it highlights Victoria’s ongoing yet often overlooked contribution to Canada’s indie scene.
